Why Is My Shower Head Leaking? - NIR Plumbing

Why Is My Shower Head Leaking?

[vc_row top_padding=”30″ bg_position=”left top”][vc_column width=”1/1″][vc_row_inner][vc_column_inner animation=”none”][vc_column_text]We love a good hot shower. I mean, who doesn’t? It used to be that we loved a good LONG hot shower – but with water conservation we are doing our part by cutting our water usage just like you. So when your shower head starts leaking and you are now only getting a tiny trickle of that warm perfection it seriously throws your shower game off.

It is possible that the leak is not even coming from the shower head. Double check where your shower head is attached. If it’s looking deteriorated or broken we may have found our issues. If this is not the case then you should check the rubber washer inside your shower head. This washer regulates the water flow but after so many showers it does inevitable deteriorate. If your O ring is in top notch condition then you might want to check the valves. The supply valves supply the water to your shower. If they are not securely attached or if they are rusted or damaged that could lead to a leak. You may also want to check the build-up around your shower head. Water brings with it many different minerals and over time these minerals can create a build up that leads to your shower head not functioning properly. A home remedy that works to clean this is to take off your shower head and soak it in white vinegar for a few hours. While you are checking for build up also check your showerhead for any holes it may have. If you find a rust spot or hole you will want to replace that part of the shower head.

These are a just a few options on how to diagnose your leaky showerhead. Of course NIR plumbing is always here to help with either diagnosing the problem and fixing it as well.
